I think about marriage and divorce a lot. In part, because I am married and have been with my husband now for 20 years. Ours is the longest running, happiest and most stable relationship I know besides that of some of our friends’ parents. I have plenty of friends who are in good, stable and happy relationships, but they are still in the process of raising their young families. Bill and I now really get the time to spend with each other, being who we are and we’re finding that we still like each other after all this time. Right now, we really are the happiest couple I know, but that’s only because we have a slight time advantage on the others what with our kids nearly being grown and the stress of whether our kids are going to turn out like normal adults is off the table. Our relationship has also outlasted more than a few that we have encountered over the years.… [Read More]

Dog Fart!
I’ve had to adjust the routine since Lucy came home. It’s been rough actually but any time you have to settle into a new routine, it’s hard. So I get up at 6 am. I have the daughter attempt to take Lucy out, which does not work, for some reason, Lucy will only do her business when I’m standing outside with her which I am totally okay with now that I’ve realized it, but my kids would take her out and would forget to tell me that she didn’t go. You can imagine what a fiasco this has been.… [Read More]
TGIF! … Not.
Today is the day I usually get to sleep in until 7. Mugen is quite happy to sleep in when my alarm doesn’t go off. So I settled in last night for my sleep in morning and everything was great and then… I get awakened at 6:30 by a puppy licking me in the face.
Now… don’t get me wrong, this was cute and wonderful, but I wondered how on Earth he had gotten out of his crate and into the bed with me. I had an immediate suspect and he had just shut the bedroom door.… [Read More]
The Morning Routine
The morning routine in this house doesn’t get deviated from, even on weekends. This is why I was up at 6:30 am this morning. Mugen must be let out, must have breakfast and must have a play time while I read my forums and drink my coffee.
It will take me 20 or 30 minutes to write this post in between sips of coffee and finding where Mugen’s lost his wubba this time and tossing it for him, but it wears him down so he will take a short nap in his crate while I shower… and then the fun begins.… [Read More]
Death of a Christmas Tree
After last year’s fiasco with the tree refusing to light, and my husband swearing followed by my swearing and then the both of us swearing at each other, it had finally become time to take out the Christmas tree. Only this would not be as simple as one might think. It’s a large tree that might scare the willies off your average passer by walking down the street. Still, we could no longer take the threats and the abuse, no matter how many blood sacrifices were donated to the Gods as an offering to save us from hell. It was time to hire the best to eliminate it.
Cigarettes: 4 (all consumed while standing on street corner waiting for hit man).
Caffeine Units: Loads.
Weight: 200 some odd pounds of pokey branches, spindly weirdness and dangerous electrical wires.
Last night, purchased new Christmas tree with s.o. Went to big box department store and enjoyed having time to look at ornaments and other tree trimmings while husband went to sign paper work for tree.… [Read More]
