Farewell Terri.

I wanted to say something about Terri Schiavo’s passing today, but this article says something really beautiful that I felt should be shared.

And there it is, now we can get on with our lives. What saddens me about that is that few of us will be changed by her passing, though many of us spoke so loudly to either side of the cause. How many of you reading this have decided to go fill out a living will? I know it seems morbid, and you may think that you don’t need one but.. do you want to be another Terri in five or ten years? Do your parents and spouses and loved ones know what you want? Do you know what you want for yourself?

Terri’s case gives us a good reason to start figuring those things out. I think that up there in heaven, she’s thinking “Please, let my death work some of the good that I couldn’t work in my life.” Allowing that to happen for her, starts with us.

If you followed this story and cared about it to follow it for longer than a couple of days, you’ve got no excuse for sitting there reading this article anymore. Decide what you want for yourself, then make it happen. Isn’t that what living is?
