The Great White Owl

This is more of a song than a poem. This is one of the songs sung by Lyssia Stormwhisper, my Elven bard from a long dead D&D campaign. This song was inspired by a scene of roleplay so well extolled by the DM that I had to immortalize it.

Silent he fewl o’er the darkened shore,
With pale wings spread great and wide.
He granted me a lovely sight.
So large and elegant was he that I stopped and stared.
Amazed by what I had spied.
He soared o’erhead with the grace of God,
And left me in awe of his flight.
Fly, fly great owl above,
Bless me again with Ehlonna’s love,
And your feathers so pale and white.
